Salary Packaging Leader Expands into Novated Lease Lending

One of Australia’s largest salary packaging providers embarked on a new strategic initiative to expand its offerings by creating a dedicated novated lease lending business. The organisation sought to diversify services for its customers, enabling them to finance and manage vehicle leases directly through its platform. This new business required the creation of a regulated lending entity, including the systems, processes, and operational capabilities needed to support a financial services business from the ground up.

THE CHALLENGE

Launching a lending business presented unique challenges:

Regulatory requirements: Obtaining a financial lending license demanded robust operational and compliance systems.

End-to-end loan management: The business needed to establish credit assessment, deal review, settlements, loan repayment management, and treasury functions.

Greenfield build: With no existing infrastructure for lending, the organisation needed to plan, select, and integrate systems within a one-year timeframe.

Scalability: The solution had to support rapid growth, ensuring that the business could expand loan volumes and evolve business rules without proportional increases in staff.

OUR APPROACH

Interprit partnered with the client to design and implement the foundation for the new lending business. Key contributions included:

System selection and planning: Guiding the choice of core lending, credit, and settlement platforms to accelerate business setup.

Integration and custom development: Building microservices-based applications to address functionality gaps in off-the-shelf systems. These domain-specific services provided flexibility to introduce new business rules and processes as the business scaled.

Azure-based architecture: Leveraging Microsoft Azure and Azure Integration Services to create a secure, scalable, and resilient platform.

Operational readiness: Interprit delivered the platform and processes in advance of licence approval, ensuring the business was ready to go live as soon as regulatory approval was granted.

"Interprit became an extension of our team-seamless delivery, secure integration, and real impact on our daily operations.'

Their expertise and ongoing support have been invaluable, helping us optimise our systems, save staff time, and deliver a better experience for our visitors.
